The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel is a luxury hotel located in Hollywood, Florida, with its sister property in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Florida location is situated near the iconic Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino complex on U.S. Route 441, approximately 15 miles north of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
History Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & and Development
The original Seminole Tribe casino was launched in 1979 by a small group of Native American investors with plans for further expansion into gaming facilities and hospitality services. After several years of growth, the Hard Rock brand, originally known as «The Power Station,» was acquired by Peter Morton’s Mirage Resorts in the late 1980s.
Over time, Hard Rock Entertainment became an entity independent from Seminole Holdings’ investment arm before later being sold to a joint ownership between The Blackstone Group and The Seminole Tribe. By this point, both parties shared control over all casino assets located outside of Florida.
Expansion Projects
In January 2020, the property embarked upon its biggest overhaul yet – transforming into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s sister location under new leadership for a significant facelift and revamp that brought major changes such as enhanced dining options. Throughout this time frame numerous venues have welcomed multiple newcomers including some highly sought-after acts.
